What is The Potato Head Project?
The Potato Head Project is a nonprofit organization that supports families in the NICU with premature babies. Kristin Moan established the project in 2013 after giving birth to premature twins herself. Kristin knew the devastating experience and wanted to do something to help preemie parents feel less isolated.
This organization’s purpose is bigger than care packages. Behind every package is a community that cares – a support system. Kristin’s goal in founding the organization was to come alongside these families and bring a glimmer of hope to very dark situations.
Potato Head Care Packages
Through this organization, families receive a personalized care package. Each one includes a Mr. or Mrs. Potato head toy. Parents are encouraged to place the toy next to their baby and take size-comparison photos to show their baby’s growth progression.
Additionally, each package contains a variety of other essentials, including the PHP’s famous preemie leg warmers. These packages serve the needs of families. They overflow with the care and compassion of those who stocked them.
The Give Back Crew Attends PHP Fundraiser
The Give Back Crew attended the “Pizza for Potato Heads” fundraiser at Pizza Ranch in Elk River, MN. Six of our team members and one family member volunteered throughout the evening. They cleaned tables and assisted the Pizza Ranch staff.
The event raised over $1,000 to support the PHP organization in just one evening! We are honored to be able to support the PHP that works so hard for premature babies and their families.
